If they had a raffle for a chance to go to Mars (when the time comes), would you want to go? I most certainly would!

If it got to where it was all nice and built up, like in Star Trek settings, I would, but the truth is that I'm not much of a pioneer person.  I need the luxuries.

I'm with Abydos. I don't know how inclined I would be to go if things weren't built up. Part of me thinks it would be fun to pioneer it, but realistically, I don't think I would like it at all!

Well that all depends. Has Mars been colonized any yet? Is space travel fast enough that it would not take years? All of that would play a role in my decision making process.

I would not want to be one of the first one thats for sure. I would probably wait a few years when they have things build there. If it took only a few hours not years then I would go sooner.

Probably not, at least not first like others said.  I would want to be sure that others could get there and it was safe first before I went.  Then again it would be cool to be one of the first people there too.

I would not go to Mars. There is nothing there that would motivate me to do so. I am perfectly content living on earth and getting by on what we have. I would not even like to just visit mars as I do not see the point in doing so if it is inhabitable.

We appreciate your honesty, hidden.  But remember there are some very adventurous people around here who would enjoy the thrill of pioneering a new frontier like Mars.  Are you a Star Trek fan?

I would certainly go to Mars if I was given the chance. I would even go there to help build the colony if I can. I'm bored with the life on Earth and Mars would be a new start for everyone who wanted to leave the Earth.

As you can tell by my name, I'm a trekkie. As a matter of fact, I'm a trekkie from way back.  I would love to go to Mars.  I wouldn't even mind if I was one of the first to do so.  However, given my age, I doubt NASA would be recruiting me anytime soon. Grin  Now if they asked for volunteers, my hand would go up in a heartbeat!

Well, Picard, according to the studies I've looked at it may be possible that your visit to Mars may regenerate your youth by about 10 years.   Grin
