FOUNDING STATEMENT

The term 'global village' that we speak of today is directly linked to the advent of the space age.  The activities of the many telecommunications satellites orbiting earth has made communication between any two points on the Earth's surface and in the air manifest within a fraction of a second.  Using radio signals via space is central to this great technological feat.  In turn this has had an enormous impact on our international financial system, the way we live and even on the way we think.  We can also deduct from these basic facts that the Internet and the World Wide Web is, can and should be directly linked to all commercial and non-commercial activities in space.  Though many people do not realize it yet but the human push into space is imperative to our progress, standard of living and survival.  This is where FlyToMars.com Rocket Club come into play on the micro level.  We are teaching our youth the importance of continuous acquisition of knowledge of the physical world including space.  Showing the youth how rockets operate directly encourages them to take interest in the stars and beyond.  They begin to take an interest in their education and inevitably how they can contribute directly to the advancement of human civilization in all aspects of human endeavor.

The physics involved in the underlying operation of a rocket is powerful but simple.  The knowledge involved in creating the most basic of spaceships is directly related to the most fundamental rocket.

When I was growing up in the 1970s, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut.  I would go to my local library and read as many books as possible on flying to the moon.  While enmeshed into my readings I learned how to build a simple rocket out of items in my mother's kitchen.  Using a bottle of coke, a plastic cup and a can opener I built my first rocket.  The experiment was crude, fun and enlightening.

The interest that I have in space exploration and space tourism, I am now trying to impart to my sons, nieces, nephews and others via FlyToMars.com Rocket Club.  Hoping someday one of them will grow up to be a pilot, astronaut, space entrepreneur, a founding father of a colony on Mars, or someone who will be inspired to "boldly go where no man has gone before".

In the coming weeks I will post some of the videos showing the first two members of the FlyToMars.com Rocket Club experimenting with building and flying a model airplane.

I'm interested in becoming a member of this club of yours. What are the requirements needed to be eligible for membership? How many members does the club has so far?
